DERBI Foundation And CSR Activities

As per section 135 of the Companies Act 2013, Corporates are expected to spend a part of the net profits towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects. Contributing to technology business incubators located within academic institutions approved by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India is qualified for CSR Activities under this act.

CSR Funding

DERBI Foundation is 80G and 12A certified and is eligible under Section 135, Schedule 7 of the Companies Act 2013. It accepts CSR contributions from corporate houses for various purposes that are within the scope of DERBI Foundation’s defined objectives.Corporates can contribute to the CSR initiatives in two ways:

  • Ongoing Program : Corporates can contribute to a continuing regular program. This can be customised to the interests of the corporates
  • Short Term Program : Corporates can focus on specific, limited-term projects with defined milestones.

How Can Corporates Be A Part Of CSR Funding?

2 Fellowships/internships fund 10 lakhs Supporting interns, Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) etc.
3 Seed funding (including impact fund) 25 lakhs Seed support for incubatees to help with their initial operational expenses. This also includes social startups working on maximizing improvements in human and environmental well-being
4 Accelerators/Boot camp fund 50 lakhs Specialized funds for helping a group of start-ups (usually more than 6) accelerate their `business and is given for a short period (usually 3-4 months)
5 Infrastructure fund 50 lakhs Fund for supporting the creation of specialised labs and allied facilities for startups

  • Naming rights will be given provided:
    • CSR contribution is 50% or more than 50% of the operating costs.
    • CSR contribution is 50% or more than 50% of the infrastructure costs.
